Scope and Mission
Journal of Governance, Security, and Development (JGS&D) is a scholarly multidisciplinary, open-access, peer-reviewed journal that publishes critical analyses in the social sciences and humanities across a range of disciplines. Its objective is to serve as a forum for intellectual and practical discussions on governance, security, and development issues with a South Asian focus, either comparative or country specific. The Journal welcomes original research (theoretical and empirical), case studies, commentaries, and book reviews that are inter- or cross-disciplinary in nature. Studies that focus on challenges affecting South Asian nations and other emerging countries are particularly valued and encouraged.
JGS&D is ‘open access’ and supports the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) of making research publicly available “for the sake of inquiry and knowledge.” The Journal is available online, and all published abstracts and full texts will be immediately and permanently accessible to anyone in the pdf format. By submitting manuscripts, authors automatically grant anyone the right to view, quote, and disseminate their work publicly, provided the source is clearly attributed. Additionally, users have the right to print for personal use copies of the material published on the JGS&D site. Authors are encouraged to make copies of their published articles available on their personal, institutional, or professional websites/blogs, along with a link to the original article. This will aid in disseminating their work as well as increasing the visibility of the Journal.
JGS&D does not endorse any political parties, public or private organizations, movements or religious bodies. Articles that are overtly political, religious, or communal will be rejected. Opinion and views expressed in JGS&D are those of the authors/contributors and do not reflect those of the Centre for Governance Studies, the Editor, or the members of the Editorial Board.
The Journal is published twice a year and is currently indexed in: ASOS Index, Directory of Research Journals Indexing (DRJI), IP Indexing, International Scientific Indexing (ISI), Research Bible, I2OR, Root Indexing and so on.
