Abstract
The old US-led world order, which has persisted in the region since the end of the Cold War, is now coming to a close. The rapid growth in China’s economic might has adorned it with grand ambitions to break away from the existing order and forge a new one where China once again retains hegemony in Asia. However, in the midst of the struggle, smaller powers now find a unique opportunity to play an active role in shaping the future by carefully balancing diplomatic ties between the two rival superpowers. Thus, the possibility of a multipolar world order yet remains, where a rising third-world nation such as Bangladesh may yet find room to play. This article briefly explores the Indo-Pacific geopolitical entanglement through the lenses of the US, China, India, and Bangladesh.
