Abstract
This study investigates the influence and impact of the media on the progress of political discourse and public opinion in the 21st century, specifically by comparing South Asia with Western countries. This study examines the impact of media on the process of creating policies and engaging in political discussions through a thorough analysis of previous research, documented events, and scholarly writings. The media in South Asia operates within a distinct framework characterized by legislative constraints and close ties to politics, frequently being utilized as a tool for political manipulation. Conversely, the western media, which enjoys greater press freedoms, plays a crucial role in shaping political discussions and determining priorities. To determine the similarities and differences in the political impact of media across areas, this study analyzes empirical data and case studies. The objective of the findings is to enhance comprehension of how media influences political sentiment, providing crucial insights for policymakers, media practitioners, and scholars studying the present connection between media and politics.
